Colleen Pinkerton, DG

Lion Colleen Pinkerton was elected District 35-A Governor at the sub district convention in April, 2008.

District Governor Pinkerton has been associated with Lionism all her life, as her father was a past president and life member of the Fairfield, Iowa Lions Club and her mother was an active Lioness. She has been associated with the Miami Lakes Lions Club since it was chartered in 1965.

Lion Colleen was one of the first women to join the Miami Lakes Lions Club in 1995 and served as 100% Secretary and as the first woman president was 100% and led her club to win the Most Active Club award in District 35-A. She still serves on the board of directors and on numerous committees.

District Governor Pinkerton served her district as Cabinet Secretary, Cabinet Treasurer, Zone & Region Chair, USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum Chair, on the MERL Team as Membership and Leadership Chairs. She has also served as Credentials Chair, Protocol Chair and served on the Multiple District elections and Credentials committee. Lion Colleen has also been an instructor at officers training schools on the District and Multiple District level. Lion Colleen also served as President and Treasurer of Projects, Inc. and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Diabetes Awareness as well as served as a member of the Conklin Center House of Delegates.

District Governor Pinkerton is a graduate of the University of Iowa, College of Liberal Arts - Science and the College of Dentistry - Dental Hygiene and was member of the Dental College staff prior to moving to Florida. Lion Colleen has been a Registered Parliamentarian since 1974 and achieved the status of Professional Registered Parliamentarian, is a past president of her local unit and a member of the state and national associations.

Lion Colleen has had many awards bestowed upon her as Dade County's Outstanding Young Woman, the City of Hialeah's highest commendation, the Award of Honor. Her bibliographical compilations are listed in "Outstanding Young Woman of America", Personalities of the South" and "International Biographies". Lion Colleen has been a licensed real estate broker achieving the designations of GRI, CRS, and CRRS was licensed as a mortgage broker and certified real estate instructor.

District Governor Pinkerton has received many Lionistic awards including twice being named Lion of the Year by her club, is a Certified Guiding Lion, Golden Chain and Governors Achievement Awards, an International Presidents Certificate of Appreciation and is a Melvin Jones Fellow.

District Governor Pinkerton is married to Lion Charlie - a charter member of the Miami Lakes Lions Club - and resides in Miami.
