35-D includes
the following counties:
Brevard, Broward (North from the Dania Cut-Off Canal and the South New
River Canal), Indian River, Martin, Palm Beach, St Lucie and the Bahama
Islands.
Roger N. Messer, Esq.
Elected to the position of
District Governor at the Multiple District Convention in May 2007, Lion
Roger N. Messer is a member of the St. Lucie West Lions Club.
District Governor Messer is a
native Floridian born in Panama City and he became
a Lion in 1979 as a member of the Fort Pierce Lions Club.
Lion Messer served in many of the club
offices and as a 100% President of the Fort Pierce Lions Club in 1984-1985.
Vice District Governor Messer has served as
the General Legal Council (pro-bono) for the Florida Lions Foundation for the
Blind since 1983 and was a 100% Drive Director for the Foundation in 1995-1997.
Lion Roger led a successful Lions Foundation Legislative lobbying effort to
restore funding for the Eye Medical Program in 2004.
Lion Roger transferred his membership and
was the Charter President of the St. Lucie West Lions Club for which he received
an Extension Award.
Professionally, Lion Roger is a Lawyer
having received his BA from Florida State University in Government and his Juris
Doctor From Stetson University. Lion Messer served as Legislative Research
Assistant, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, The Pentagon,
1972-1974. He is the Senior partner of Messer & Messer Law firm and
received Florida Bar President's Pro Bono Service Award for the 19th Judicial
Circuit in 1991.
District Governor Messer is a
Melvin Jones Fellow and a Grand Lion of the Florida Lions Foundation and
has received two International Presidents Certificates of Appreciation.
Lion Roger and his wife Lion Betsey,
also a native Floridian, have two children, daughter Johanna and his law
partner son Steven and reside
in Port St. Lucie.
