Suzan "Suzy" Stathas

Lion Suzan Stathas was elected District R Governor at the Multiple District Convention on May 4, 2007.

Lion Suzy is a second generation Lion and was introduced to Lionism by her father when he served as a Deputy District Governor in Wisconsin at the age of 17.  Actually she attended her first Lions Club meeting at the age of 17 with her girl friends to sing folk songs for the lions during their dinner.  How times have changed.

District Governor Stathas has maintained 100% attendance since 1998.  She has held most of the offices in her club and served twice as a 100% president of her club.

On the district and Multiple District level, District Governor Stathas has served as District Leadership chair.  She has also served as District and Multiple District  SightFirst and Sight Conservation Chairs.  Lion Suzy has also participated in 3 Special Olympics programs.

Lion Suzy has received the International Presidents Certificate of Appreciation, is a Certified Guiding Lion, earned 3 Golden Chains, earned the Anchor Award and is a Builder member of the Florida Lions Foundation for the Blind. Vice District Governor Stathas is a Melvin Jones Fellow. 

District Governor Stathas has been a collections and credit manager for over 25 years in healthcare and banking.
